The 3:1 and the 5:1 Pump

The PKHD 3:1 or 5:1 lube oil pump has been a staple, not only within TECALEMIT, but industry wide. These two pumps work the same but have different purposes. So, how do you pick one vs the other one?

Think of it in terms of distance or number of dispense points. Example, if you have 100 PSI of pressure going into the 3:1, you are going to have an output of 300 psi (100 x 3). Consequently, if you have 100 psi of pressure going into the 5:1, you are going to have an output of 500 psi (100 x 5). The higher the pressure, the more distance that will be covered or, if you have multiple dispensing points, the more pressure you will maintain within the system to ensure that all points can dispense at once. This is something that you will have to determine for your site or your particular situation.

Regardless of what you choose, these two pumps are single-piston style pumps with very minimal moving parts, giving you plenty of power and reliability.
