Dry Running? How to Reset

Has your pump’s thermal protection mechanism been tripped? If so, it is because the internal temperature has gotten too high, most likely from dry running. This is detrimental to your pump and its internal components, as it can cause the seals to expand and contract unnecessarily until they are damaged, causing leaking and a mess for you! The thermal protection mechanism is meant to prevent any damage to your pump from high heat and will turn the pump off.

So how to reset?

Follow these simple steps:

  • Turn off your pump and unplug it from the power source.
  • Toggle the pump’s on/off switch twice (on/off, on/off).
  • Plug it back in and power it up again.

Your pump should be fully reset and ready to get back to work! Check out the video below for more, and email us at sales@tecalemitusa.com or chat with us online if you have any questions!
